Last week, Steve and Denise visited the Ampilly quarry in Burgundy, France, to research options for an upcoming project. We were looking for a French limestone flooring that could be supplied in a variety of sizes, thicknesses and surface finishes and could also be cut for steps and wall copings. We had used Ampilly for the terrace at Amarestone HQ (pictured below) so it is a stone that we already knew quite well but this was the first time we had made it out to the quarry.

Cleaning a Limestone Patio
How easy is that!
Natural stone is a perfect choice for using outside the house as well as inside. But the main questions that we hear time and time again are, "Is it hard to keep stone clean?" or sometimes, "But doesn't the grout stain easily and look horrible very quickly?"

Good News: French Limestone back on the agenda
We've just had some excellent news from our friends in France. After last year's bad news, they have now restructured and we can once again source the widest range of top quality French limestone and marble for tiles, slabs and bespoke pieces. The range includes many of the world renowned Burgundy limestones as well as a few new ones from quarries that were not previously on our list.
With our extensive network of contacts in the quarries throughout France, we have become known as the people who can source many of the well-known French limestones. Now though, the less well known limestone quarries are approaching us and enabling us to offer an even wider range.
